Atripalda clinched the signature of one of the 12 players included in the recent Italian National Team juniors, which will face the European Championship qualification tournament. Indeed, it brings in Marco Izzo, who will be the back-up setter behind Scappaticcio. The 19-year-old came up in Cuneo, where he was part of the Under 19 team. The transition to the A2 will not be easy but the talent is there.
“I am thrilled but also a bit nervous – said Izzo – I know I have to prove my worth in a different context. I am not scared of the challenge, though, I can’t wait to get started. I always try to use my brain and I try to learn from the others”.
