The Belgium international came up in his home town at Eisden Maasmechelen before signing for Noliko Maaseik, where he won two league titles in 2008 and 2009, and three cups (from 2008 to 2010). Signed as back-up setter behind Omrcen at Macerata, Van Walle proved extremely useful in the league, but especially in the Challenge Cup final against Izmir, when he helped the team win the return game in Turkey in five sets as Omrcen was injured.
