ARAGO DE SETE – BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO 0-3 (16-25, 22-25, 16-25)

ARAGO DE SETE : Geiler 4, Mistoco 4, Toniutti 1, Mrozek 4, Sol 5, Rabiller 3, Bauer 1, Trefle 7, Donat. DNP Tille, Bonnefoy, Hervoir. Coach. Duflos.

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Antonov 9, Marchisio (L), Ngapeth 8, Della Lunga 6, Sokolov 20, Abdel-aziz 4, Rossi 9. DNP De Pandis, Galliani, Kohut, Sideri, Picco. Coach. Piazza.

Piazza’s team came back from France with a victory over Sete, which had already been beaten by the Italians in October.

Marco Pistolesi (General Manager Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “I am extremely satisfied with the result, which secures us the top spot, and that is very important for the playoffs 12 draw, which will take place next week. I’m happy as well because some players who usually play less, they have played an excellent game  and the whole team enjoyed the match. We didn’t want to take a risk on Kohut because he felt some pain in the back yesterday. So we had a particular line-up: it was a good experience that went well”.

ANDREOLI LATINA – POSOJILNICA AICH/DOB 3-1 (25-20, 25-27, 25-19, 25-19)

ANDREOLI LATINA : Rauwerdink 11, Rossini (L), Gitto 13, Sottile 4, Jarosz 8, Patriarca 1, Verhees 6, Troy 7, Noda Blanco 8, Prandi, Cisolla 15. DNP Guemart. Coach. Prandi.

POSOJILNICA AICH/DOB : Kosl 17, Hruska 13, Csoma 4, Kroiss (L), Satler 6, Grut 9, Wlodarczyk 16, Reiser. DNP Petkov, Pusnik. Coach. Kotnik.

Latina had the better of the Aich Dob in the Cev Cup third round first leg. The serve made the difference as the Italians registered 9 aces against 3 for the Slovenians. Now Latina will have to win away to avoid the lottery of the Golden set.

Silvano Prandi (coach Andreoli Latina): “Having the opening game at home, we had to win at all cost. The return leg will be a whole new story… it will be tough. Our job was to handle the pressure and the difficulty. Shame we did not manage to do that in the second set. The problems were more mental than technical. I have to say that Sottile’s runs of serves in the third as well as in the fourth have been crucial”.

Sergio Noda (Andreoli Latina): “As I’ve said on various occasions, we have a strong team. We play twice a week and it’s important to have different solutions. We are a team”.

SELVER TALLINN – COPRA ELIOR PIACENZA 0-3 (17-25, 18-25, 22-25)

SELVER TALLINN: Keel 5, Tammemaa 2, Meresaar 12, Juhkami 7, Ouekallas 3, Aganits 8, Pulk 1, JÄrv, Esna (L), Jalg 1. DNP Rannar, Losnikov. Coach. Keel Avo.

COPRA ELIOR PIACENZA: Marra (L), Papi 9, Fei 14, Simon Aties 6, Zlatanov 7, Holt 6, Tencati, De Cecco 2. DNP Latelli, Corvetta, Maruotti, Vettori. Coach. Monti.

Easy victory for Luca Monti’s boys in Estonia. Piacenza needed just over an hour to seal it as it registered 51% in attack against the 34% for Tallinn. The Italians also dominated at the net with 12 blocks against 5.

Luca Monti (coach Copra Elior Piacenza): “It’s been an easy win. If I have to compare with the Istanbul players, I’d say Tallinn is a lot better on the serve. As for the rest, their game is pretty elementary and predictable. We reached our goal which was to seal it as quickly as possible and train for the Latina game, given that we won’t have much time from now till Sunday. Both tomorrow and Saturday we’ll be on the road, to go back to Italy and then to travel south to the Lazio region”.
