2013 CEV Champions League

Some important games ahead for the Italians in the Champions League: Cuneo, Macerata and Trento are top of their respective group but all up against their main rivals this week. If Cuneo and Trento are to take a three-point win, they will only need one more point from the last two games to go through. As for Macerata, maximum points would mean they are qualified with two games in hand.

After two away games, in Poland and in Verona last weekend, Cuneo is back home against Rzeszow, which stands three points behind in the group. 3-0 the score for the Italians last week. The Pols will be without Akhrem and Nowakowski, both injured. Trento will be up against a Polish team too: Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Beaten 3-0 in Trento, and three points behind in the standings, the Polish side will do everything possible to win it and stay in the race for the top spot. Stoytchev’s team could gather its 14 consecutive win this season. As for Macerata, it could be through this week to the Playoffs 12 if it beats the Germans of Unterhaching, who stand four points behind.
