Some players like Podrascanin had some rest as setter Nat Monopoli and middle blocker Alen Pajenk were given a run. Zaytsev shined with 4 aces (3 in the third set) and 18 points.

Winners in San Giustino this weekend, Trentino added another road victory in France against Tours. This is their 8th consecutive victory between World Club Championship, Serie A1 and the Champions League. Thanks to those three-points, Stoytchev’s boys keep up the pace with the Polish from Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle at the top of the group ahead of next week’s big clash in Italy. The Cuban Juantorena was named MVP as he tallied 16 points with 63% at the net, two blocks and two aces.
“Everything went according to plan – said coach Stoytchev – And we could even have done better if we had not lost our focus at times. It was a great feeling to come back here in Tours, I have seen many old friends. It was nice to give them a good performance. The Champions League is very different from the league, I don’t really know if this 3-0 can really help us for the coming game against Cuneo”.

Latina won the second leg too against the Bulgarians of Sofia and qualified for the Cev Cup 8th of final, in which it will face the Finnish team of VeLaPa Sastamala. The latter went through thanks to the Golden Set won over Selver Tallinn. Latina dominated the first two sets with some good serve while the Bulgarians were making a lot of mistakes in attack. Prandi’s boys lost their way in the third but reacted well to seal the game and the tie.
“It’s definitely easier to play against teams of your level – said coach Prandi – We have to think one step at a time, we shouldn’t look too much ahead of us. It’s great to see all the fans coming and have the attention of the media, I hope this will continue in the future”.
Alberto Cisolla: “We went through and that’s what matters. We know the return leg is always more difficult, especially when you win the first leg. You lose some of your concentration, we knew it but did well to get the result we needed”.
