CUCINE LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Savani 13, Zaytsev 16, Parodi 12, Stankovic 4, Henno (L), Travica 2, Podrascanin 8. DNP Lampariello, Pajenk, Monopoli, Randazzo, Starovic. Coach. Giuliani.

Macerata showed all its quality, dominated Piacenza in three sets and therefore took the three points to stay top of the league. Fourth consecutive win and second straight sweep for Giuliani’s boys, including the Super Cup triumph. The scheme with three spikers with Zaytsev outside hitter-receiver is working just fine as Macerata looks unstoppable when the clutch time comes around. Cristian Savani scored 13 points with 65% in attack and was named MVP.

Alberto Giuliani (coach Cucine Lube Banca Marche): “Piacenza is a top class team, at the same level as Trento and Cuneo. So we expected to play a big game and that’s what we did. We can still improve on various aspects, but I am extremely satisfied with tonight’s performance”.

Antonio Corvetta (Copra Elior Piacenza): “Macerata made it really tough for us with its serve. They prevented us from playing our game. We had our chances in the second set, to tie it and get back in the game, but we could not make it”.
