Cuneo new Under 19 champ
In Macerata’s PalaFontescodella arena, it’s the Cuneo players that lifted the Under 19 national title trophy aloft. Monica Cresta’s team had the better of the hosts of Macerata 3-0 and won the “Massimo Serenelli” trophy for the third time in the history of the club.
The event was initially meant to occur in Calderara di Reno, near Bologna, before it was cancelled due to a terrible earthquake. The memory of victims was honoured with a minute of silence before every game of the competition.
Giuseppe Della Corte was named MVP of the competition. Trentino stood on the third step of the podium as it defeated Modena in the game for third place.
