Video control tests
The first experimental phase on court of the video control of the lines began this week following some analysis in the laboratory. The project, launched by the Italian Volleyball League, takes its inspiration from the “Challenge”, a system created in Poland, and experienced in the league as well as in the recent Champions League Final Four.
CEO Massimo Righi is confident what will be called the Video Check will be a success, a good help for the refs alongside the Sport Moles, which has not been abandoned. It’s all a question of time as tests will continue through the summer.

Playoff final Game 2 on Sunday
A derby in the Puglia region for a place in the Serie A1 in 2012-13. Castellana Grotte and Molfetta are the two teams left and they will meet in the first encounter on Sunday. Both came close to direct promotion behind Perugia, Castellana had 65 points and Molfetta 63. As for the Cup, Castellana won it while Molfetta was stopped in the semi-final at the tie-break against Segrate. On the way to the final, Castellana Grotte got rid of Loreto and Segrate, while Molfetta knocked out Genova and Città di Castello. Thanks to its better regular season position, Castellana Grotte is given a 1-0 start in the series.
Pallavolo Molfetta – BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte. The series will start in the house of the newly promoted Molfetta on Sunday night. Its last home game was 11 days ago when they had celebrated the pass for the final at the end of a very long tie-break against Città di Castello. 11 days of intense training for Uchikov and co, who will try to immediately bring back the series on level terms. As for Castellana Grotte, which finished its semi-final on the 16th, it will hope the momentum of play will lead them to a 2-0 lead. That would give them a chance to seal it at home in game 3. One win for each side in the regular season.
