Round 24
CMC RAVENNA – TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA 2-3 (19-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-21, 13-15)
CMC RAVENNA: Mengozzi 11, Leonardi 6, Corvetta 3, Sirri 9, Tabanelli (L), Verhanneman 1, Plesko 1, Moro 24, Brunner, Gruszka, Roberts 15. DNP Bendandi, Gallosti. Coach. Babini.

Vibo had the better of Ravenna at the end of a battle that lasted over two hours and a half. Moro was outstanding while Roberts stood out as well.
Nathan Roberts (CMC Ravenna): “We were coming off two poor performances and we really wanted to redeem ourselves in front of our fans. Shame we did not manage to win the game, but I think the fans enjoyed themselves”.
Antonio Babini (coach CMC Ravenna): “The tie-break was decided on a couple of plays and unfortunately in the end, Vibo won it. But I am satisfied with the way the boys have battled from the first to the last minute”.
LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – ENERGY RESOURCES SAN GIUSTINO 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20)
LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Lampariello, Pajenk 3, Savani 18, Exiga (L), Parodi, Kovar 10, Monopoli, Travica 5, Omrcen 20, Podrascanin 11. DNP Stankovic, Van Walle. Coach. Giuliani.
ENERGY RESOURCES SAN GIUSTINO: Creus Larry 7, Rauwerdink 15, Patak 12, Mc Kibbin 2, Cozzi 1, Finazzi 3, Petkovic 1, Giovi (L), Sammelvuo 2, Urnaut 15. DNP Bartoletti, Tholse, Lo Bianco. Coach. Held.
Fifth straight victory for Macerata in the league, the latest came against San Giustino. Thanks to this win, Macerata consolidates its second place. MVP Savani.
Alberto Giuliani (coach Lube Banca Marche): “We are not at our best but we have two more weeks of work in which we can sort out a few details. Some might have paid the price for the hard work done this week, but the fact we have won despite having loaded the boys that much during the week is satisfying. A few schemes that we tried in training worked to perfection today”.
Henki Held (coach Energy Resources San Giustino): “We did Ok, but we can definitely do better. We did very well at the end of the third set, shame we did not find consistency in the fourth. We had a lot of ups and downs, especially on the serve, and you can’t afford it against a team like Macerata”.
FIDIA PADOVA – ANDREOLI LATINA 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 15-7)
FIDIA PADOVA: Schwarz 16, Gonzalez 3, Tiberti, Cricca 5, Koshikawa 8, Rosso 4, De Marchi 12, Simeonov 22, Hein 5, Semenzato 6, Zingaro (L). DNP Garghella, Giannotti. Coach. Montagnani.
ANDREOLI LATINA: Rivera Caamano 5, Pantaleon 2, Gitto 5, Sottile 3, Jarosz 9, De Pandis (L), Guemart, Tailli (L), Troy 13, Diachkov 7, Cester 14, Fragkos 12. DNP Hardy-dessources, Galabinov. Coach. Prandi.
Padova gathered two crucial points in its fight to stay up as it was able to line up new signing, US middle blocker Hein, who joined the club to substitute the injured Luka Suljagic.
Paolo Montagnani (coach Fidia Padova): “We should have sealed the fourth set today. We’re happy with the win but we need more of a killer instinct to stay up. On Sunday, we’ll have what I call “the semi-final” and then on April 1st, we’ll have the ‘final’. We’ll have to give the best of the best in those games”.
Silvano Prandi (coach Andreoli Latina): “Today Padova deserved to win. We were a little too nervous at times in key moments and we lost the points. That will serve us as lesson for the future”.
CASA MODENA – MARMI LANZA VERONA 3-1 (25-22, 33-31, 22-25, 25-17)
CASA MODENA: Manià (L), Sala 8, Dennis 21, Carletti, Bellei 1, Esko 6, Martino 13, Casoli, Anderson 13, Piscopo 12. DNP Catellani. Coach. Bagnoli.
MARMI LANZA VERONA: Popp 15, Kosmina, Ter Horst, Calderan, Meoni 1, Smerilli (L), Patriarca 8, Zingel 6, Kromm 19, Postiglioni, Gasparini 15. DNP Casarin. Coach. Bagnoli.
The derby of the Bagnoli brothers went Daniele and Modena’s way. Intense game in which Modena did a better job serving and blocking.
Daniele Bagnoli (coach Casa Modena): “This has been a very tight game, we have not been very effective on the serve and to be honest I did not expect Verona to receive that well. We really needed those three points and we needed the win for our confidence too. The victory is a fundamental medicine. We still make a few too many mistakes. We have reached the key moment of the season, we have to focus in training and keep playing better and better”.
Bruno Bagnoli (coach Marmi Lanza Verona): “The difference has been the serve. As for the rest, I think we did better than them. Staying up? Yes, I am worried and that’s why I am very upset about the second set”.
