Yet another game going all the way to the tie-break for Monza. This times, the Italians came out on top at the expense of Dinamo Moscow in the Cev Cup semi-final first leg. The game was played at a very high level and the tie-break was tight. Return game will be on Sunday in Moscow. In the other semi-final, Rzeszow defeated Ljubljana 3-0.

Marco Molteni (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “Congratulations to our opponent, a strong team which made it very hard for us, and the length of the game shows how tough it was. Credit to us for playing well again at home and, like the opposite coach said, maybe the fact we have played a few tie-breaks of late prepared us”.

Yury Cherednik (allenatore Dinamo Moscow): “This was a tight game, and that’s the way we expected it. We wasted a few too many plays. We have had a series a easy games of late and maybe we were not as ready as them for such an encounter. Now we have three days to work on the return game, we will be more prepared”.
