ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA: Rossini (L), Zhukouski 1, Conte 23, Nikic 12, Forni 12, Molteni 2, Buti 10, Rooney 13, De Cecco 1, Gavotto 1. DNP Ciabattini, Mckniff, Roumeliotis. Coach. Zanini.

Just like the first time they met, the game ended at the tie-break and once again Giuliani’s team came out on top. MVP: Igor Omrcen
Jean Francois Exiga (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Some referee decisions have been contested, but in any case we knew were going to have a hard time. They are a great team, they fight hard. In the two years I have been here, Monza has always proved to be a tough team to beat because they play with heart. I am extremely happy to have won this game”.
Marco Molteni (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “We are happy with our performance which proves we are not going through a crisis. A lot has been said in the past two weeks as we lost twice. But we proved we were there, playing as a good team that is willing to fight”.
CASA MODENA – SISLEY BELLUNO 1-3 (25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 18-25)
CASA MODENA: Manià (L), Sala 7, Dennis 17, Carletti, Kooy 1, Bellei 4, Esko 3, Martino 7, Casoli 2, Anderson 14, Piscopo 8. DNP Catellani, Bossi. Coach. Bagnoli.

The 102nd Italian Derby went to Sisley which managed to extend its positive streak in front of 3000 Modena fans. As for the hosts, this adds up to the bad moment despite a good start to the game. Mvp: Giorgio De Togni (middle blocker Sisley)
Daniele Bagnoli (coach Casa Modena): “This is a very difficult moment. We have to find the strength to find a way out: both technically and psychologically. As for the game, for good spells we played good volleyball, maybe even better than them, but in other moments we struggled, we conceded many blocks and we failed to handle the attack”.
Roberto Piazza (coach Sisley Belluno): “We got off to a horrible start in the first set, then we got back on track bit by bit. We did a good job of finding the inspiration to seal it in our favour at the end of sets. I think the difference was made in the block-dig area”.
ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO – M. ROMA VOLLEY 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23)
ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 14, Birarelli 9, Della Lunga 1, Juantorena 22, Zygadlo, Vieira De Oliveira 1, Sokolov 19, Djuric 11, Colaci (L), Stokr, Bari (L), Burgsthaler. DNP Lanza. Coach. Stoytchev.

Trentino is three more steps closer to securing the top spot at the end of the regular season as they disposed of Roma, which conceded its fifth straight loss.
Radostin Stoytchev (coach Itas Diatec Trentino): “This has not been our best performance, especially on the serve and reception but we’re working with different balls every day right now given that we’re preparing for the Champions League Final Four. Still, I am satisfied with the final result and the three points because you cannot take any game for granted, and our last two home games underlined this. In the first part of the game we have done well in dig, then we looked a bit tired which is normal because we’re working extremely hard to be at the top of our form in ten days”.
Giulio Sabbi (M. Roma Volley): “We’re going home once again without any points but there were some positive signs. We played with a different spirit compared to recent defeats. We have to build on this to get maximum points in the game against Ravenna”.
TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA – ANDREOLI LATINA 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 22-25)
TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA: Falasca, Coscione, Mignolo (L), Cernic 10, Diaz 15, Grassano, Rak 7, Klapwijk 21, Barone, Fanuli (L), Nikolov 4. DNP Serafini, Banderò. Coach. Blengini.
ANDREOLI LATINA: Rivera Caamano 10, Gitto 7, Sottile 2, Jarosz 13, De Pandis (L), Troy 2, Galabinov, Diachkov 12, Cester 9, Fragkos. DNP Guemart, Tailli. Coach. Prandi.
Latina remains an unbeatable team for Vibo Valentia, which concedes a disappointing home loss as the guests played better dig and serve.
Silvano Prandi (coach Andreoli Latina): “These three points help us to get closer to our target. This is a moment of great personal satisfaction. Some players have been excellent on the serve, especially at the end of the first set. Then, Fragkos came on and he gave us a good hand. Our good dig was another important factor”.
Fabio Fanuli (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “We really made things complicated for ourselves, in the first and second set, we made mistakes in the clutch time. We tried to react in the third but we couldn’t make it, and it was our own fault. We thought we could have taken points, but now we have to look ahead and focus from tomorrow on the next game which will be crucial for us”.
MARMI LANZA VERONA – ENERGY RESOURCES SAN GIUSTINO 0-3 (23-25, 21-25, 24-26) MARMI LANZA VERONA: Popp 18, Kosmina, Ter Horst, Meoni, Smerilli (L), Patriarca 10, Zingel 2, Kromm 13, Postiglioni 1, Gasparini 13. DNP Calderan, Mazzi. Coach. Bagnoli.
ENERGY RESOURCES SAN GIUSTINO: Creus Larry 11, Rauwerdink 8, Patak 5, Mc Kibbin 1, Finazzi 7, Giovi (L), Urnaut 18. DNP Cozzi, Bartoletti, Petkovic, Tholse, Lo Bianco, Sammelvuo. Coach. Held.
San Giustino dictated a high rhythm and hit the serve hard as it showed great will to win against Verona. MVP: Creus.
Marco Meoni (Marmi Lanza Verona): “Credit to our opponent for coming and getting the valuable points they needed. They were important for us too but we want to put this defeat behind us right away and focus on Saturday’s game. We have been trailing at the beginning of each set and been chasing the whole game. But we did not let the opponent escape like we have done on other occasions”.
Andrea Giovi (Energy Resources San Giustino): “We have played with heart tonight, we knew it was not going to be easy against Verona, but we wanted this victory more than them. Every game is a final for us, we’ll be fighting for points wherever we go”.
CMC RAVENNA – COPRA ELIOR PIACENZA 1-3 (25-21, 18-25, 20-25, 8-25)
CMC RAVENNA: Mengozzi 6, Leonardi, Bendandi, Corvetta 1, Sirri 1, Tabanelli (L), Verhanneman 8, Gallosti (L), Plesko 6, Moro 12, Brunner 12, Gruszka 3, Roberts. Coach. Babini.
COPRA ELIOR PIACENZA: Marra (L), Kral 1, Papi 18, Zhekov 3, Nikolov 20, Kampa 1, Zlatanov 19, Holt 10, Tencati 6. DNP Sidibé, Massari, De Oliveira, Marretta. Coach. Monti.
Ravenna had everybody believe for a great day when it played a superb first set but then Piacenza proved more consistent. Ravenna is now certain to go down in the lower division. MVP Papi
Antonio Babini (CMC Ravenna): “Apart from the fourth set, in which we fell apart, the performance of the team has not been negative. But it was extremely tough to play, Piacenza is in great shape. We are obviously feeling disheartened now that we know we are mathematically relegated. But our duty is to keep giving our best until the end of the championship”.
Luca Monti (Copra Elior Piacenza): “Another good performance from my boys, except for the first set in which our attitude has not been good. Then we stepped up and we haven’t had much trouble”.
BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO – FIDIA PADOVA 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-19)
BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Mastrangelo 7, Henno (L), Ngapeth 9, Fortunato 4, Wijsmans 12, Vissotto Neves 11, Grbic 5, Caceres 2. DNP Van Lankvelt, Patriarca, Rossi, Pieri, Baranowicz. Coach. Placì.
FIDIA PADOVA: Garghella (L), Schwarz 2, Gonzalez 1, Tiberti, Cricca 4, Koshikawa, Rosso 3, De Marchi 11, Simeonov 12, Semenzato 5, Suljagic, Zingaro (L). DNP Giannotti. Coach. Montagnani.
One-way traffic from start to finish for Cuneo. Padova just couldn’t keep up in the first set while it did a little better in the following two sets. Cuneo had 13 blocks against the 6 of Padova.
Ventceslav Simeonov (Fidia Padova): “We knew Cuneo would be determined to win following their poor defeat of last Sunday. Shame we lost that first set like that, we made things easier for them. We only started to play from the second”.
Camillo Placì (coach Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We keep working, we still have to get better on certain situations of play, while on other things I noticed some improvement. We still need stability in some areas and more consistency, but I also see we made a step forward in other things. Anyway, I feel better after this win: it’s been easy because we played very well in certain fundamentals”.
