A superb Trentino overcame the fear of elimination and made it in its four straight Final Four at the expense of Macerata. An hour and a half was enough for Trento to make up for the first leg loss, and it dominated the Golden Set too in a fantastic atmosphere.
Radostin Stoytchev (coach Trentino PlanetWin365): “We can really celebrate tonight because we achieved an unbelievable breakthrough. It was not easy to win like that after the first leg lost, and we proved we were more than just a group with a few stars as somebody suggested recently, we played as a great team. We imposed our game in all four sets: we were composed and effective in every area of the game. It’s a shame that such a match-up occurred that soon in the Playoff 6 but the draw wanted it that way. We’ll go to Lodz to try to win it again, and we’ll start preparing the event from tomorrow”.
Alberto Giuliani (coach Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Trento played the perfect game, they had a superb performance on the serve, they really made it hard for our reception, which could not find any adequate answers. And we have also made a lot of mistakes ourselves on the serve, which really lacked energy. That’s the story of the game, a 0-4 and we really can’t argue with the score”.
