2012 Champions League

The Italians did all very well in the Champions League main phase. Trentino, Cuneo and Macerata all qualified for the playoffs 12 and only Macerata finished second due to its defeat in Russia against Novosibirsk.

The draw for the next phase was carried out in Luxemburg and we’ll have an Italian derby between Cuneo and Macerata. As for the holders, Trentino, they will take on the Belgium team of Maaseik. The winners of those two games will meet in the playoffs 6. In order to go through, a team needs to win both games. If case of one victory each, a Golden Set to 15 is played.

The CEV also announced the venue of the Final four, which will take place in Lodz, Poland, with the team of Belchatow as the hosts and therefore directly qualified for the event.
