The Champions League is back on Wednesday with Macerata, Trento and Cuneo aiming to stay top of their group. Cuneo travels to the Czech Republic to meet Budejovice, who had inflicted to Gulinelli’s team its only defeat.
Trento is home against Belgrade, a team easily beaten away, while Macerata will play host to Fenerbahce Istanbul. The Turkish had had the better at the tie-break in the first meeting. Given that the Pala “Giosuè Poli” arena will not be available on the 18th, Molfetta will play its Italian Cup quarter final a week earlier against Milan. The two teams have respectively qualified by finishing 4th and 5th in the league table at the half way point of the season. They have only met once in history, this season and Molfetta won it 3-1. The winner of this game will therefore have to wait for the 18th of January to know which will be its next opponent in the semi-finals to be played on March 3.
