Simone Anzani made his professional debut in 2008-09 at hardly 16 years of age in Treviso. Since then, he has played alongside some of Italian volleyball’s great names such as Papi, Fei, Gustavo, Hubner but his favourite remained Alberto Cisolla. Last week, in the Nonno Gino memorial, the one he used to admire from the stand was on the other side of the net. Anzani was up against his idol Cisollla, there was a lot of emotion but he faced the challenge without fear.
