Castellana Grotte’s first new signing is Hiosvany Salgado. The 31-year-old Cuban, but with Italian passport, is a middle blocker that arrived in Italy in 2001. He played for Spoleto in the A2, which he won in 2009 with Loreto, while he was at Ravenna last season, registering the best attacking percentage of the league with 71%.

“Salgado is a winner – said sport director Vito Primavera – and one of the best middle blockers in the A2. Besides, he plays as an Italian player. Brilliant in attack, he was one of our main targets for the team we want to put together”.
