Despite the excellent start from Genova, Padova found its serve halfway through the set and played better in dig and block. Koshikawa was key in clinching the first set. Things got harder and harder for Genova, which season ended at home not without a big thank you from its numerous fans who chanted “we’re proud of you”.
Padova will meet Santa Croce in the final and will start the best-of-five series with a 1-0 advantage thanks to its better regular season position according to the new formula.
