Treviso completes its come-back on Macerata showing character in Game 4. It won 3-1 at home and earned a decisive Game 5 to be played Thursday in Macerata. The serve and block made the difference as Alessandro Fei was named MVP.
Roberto Piazza (Coach Sisley Treviso): “While we played under our normal standards in the first games, I think tonight Macerata played its best game of the series, which means we have stepped up a level. Now we can say that come-backs like this one are possible, we’ve been playing like the true Treviso in the past few days, even if there is very little difference between us and Macerata. Both setters had an exceptional performance tonight. Now we’ll go to Macerata with free minds, knowing it will also be Macerata’s last chance. We are already used to such situation so we have to use this factor in our favour”.
Alessandro Fei (Sisley Treviso): “We have found confidence again in the last two games and we found each other on court. We’re playing good volleyball with more belief in our ability. Now we know we have our chance in game 5. The key to the series ? The difference will be the serve and block again, the areas in which we really played at a higher level of intensity in Game 3 and 4”.
Igor Omrcen (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We made too many mistakes, we have good moments followed by lapses and that cost us dear. We have to find our balance and play with more consistency”.
