Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza – Casa Modena

(1-1)

Past encounters: 6 (3 successi Modena, 3 successi Monza Brianza)

Luca Monti (coach Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “We have to forget the last one, and face the next one with good spirit, hoping to win it. Modena is definitely more balanced with Casoli and Berezhko, especially in reception. We knew they would have made it hard for us on Saturday, and their sprint start got us on the back foot. In the second set, though, we got back on our feet, shame we did not convert our effort with the victory of the set. We paid the price psychologically in the third set and we gave up too easily. Tomorrow will be a different game, we want to win it, we’d like to have a chance to seal the series on Saturday in Modena”.

Daniele Bagnoli (coach Casa Modena): “Game 3 will be extremely uncertain, it will surely be an intense one. As I’ve said before, the two teams are of a similar level, you have to play well to win, very well. In the last month, the team’s progress slowed down because of the many injuries and the quality of the training consequently suffered from it. We’re putting the extra effort in now. Bruninho is getting to know the team, but it’s a day to day experience. As for our game, it’s obvious that we depend more than Monza on our serve and reception, while they have a quality dig-block. In the playoffs, the mental aspect is fundamental: knowing how to handle to difficult moment, knowing how to take advantage of the momentum, and learning to limit as much as possible the mistakes”.

Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo – Marmi Lanza Verona

(2-0)

Past encounters: 17 (12-5 Cuneo)

Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “Verona will play game 3 without any pressure, giving everything it has left. A playoff game is never easy and we know you can never take anything for granted, but in the end, the important is the win. In Verona, we got back on track in the tie-break after two poor sets. Now, we have rested and we prepared ourselves with determination to try to seal the series on Thursday”.

Renaud Herpe (Marmi Lanza Verona): “Despite the defeat on Sunday in game 2, we realised we could play face to face at least with the Cuneo of this period, because they’re facing difficulties too. That’s why, like we’ve done in the second part of the last game, we have to take advantage of their “weaknesses”: We will travel with this in mind, ready to give it our best shot and force game 4 in our PalaOlimpia. It would really be great for the club, fans and everyone that follows us. We have been very close to the victory, in the third and fourth set, we played excellent volleyball. In the tie-break, only a couple of plays prevented us from making it. Volkov shined on the serve and a couple of our mistakes did not allow us to seal it. We have to remember the good things done on Sunday and have another go”.
