Cuneo is only a few hours away from its playoffs 6 first leg against Dinamo Moscow, which is currently fourth in the Russian league. Dinamo, which lost the Champions League final last season against Trentino, is coming off a big win over the leaders Kazan, another aiming to reach the semi-finals.
The first leg is on Wednesday in Italy while the return leg will be on Thursday 10 in Moscow. If Cuneo was to win, it would meet Trentino in the semi-final. And if not, Trentino would meet the winner of Kazan versus Belchatow.
Wout Wijsmans (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “This will be a very complicated match up, two in-or-out games, that’s why we can’t afford to go wrong. We’ll prepare the game as well as we can, we had three games after the league match in Roma. We proved we could handle the pressure of such games, but each game has its own story, you have to start from scratch again and again. One thing is for sure, we will give it our best shot. Obviously a packed gym, like it happened against Belgorod, would really help. That night, our fans really were the seventh man on court”.
