Cuneo had the better of a generous Roma team, galvanised by the debut of new signing Cupkovic. Just like it did last week against Trento, Roma proved that when it managed to limit the mistakes it could play face to face with the bests. The spiker who arrived just a couple of days ago was one of the best for Roma, which had its best crowd of the season with 2200 fans.
Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “Roma played a good game, especially in the first set, when the spikers did extremely well. Then, we played better thanks to our tactical and floating serves. We improved in the dig-block department and in the end had the better of them”.
Konstantin Cupkovic (M. Roma Volley): “It was my first game, everything could not all come natural. In the end, I finished with 50% in attack, which is good. Shame we lost it, though. I really wanted to start off with a victory, but it was not easy against Cuneo. Now I need to work and I think that in two or three games I’ll be able to find the understanding needed with my teammates”.
