The clash between the last two of the league table went to Castellana Grotte at an almost predictable tie-break. This was Castellana’s first home win of the season, but it did not come easy at all. At the end of the fifth set, a block from Rodriguez and Cozzi made the difference.
Israel Rodriguez (BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte): “We deserved the win despite a nervy start to the game. Hopefully, this first win will not be the last. We have to fight till the end although we know it will be very difficult. I am glad for the fans who deserved this victory. As far as I’m concerned, at the beginning of the season I was not in good shape, but I’m better now. We are working well and are hoping for more good results”.
Leonardo Caldeira (Yoga Forlì): “In my opinion, this result is of no use to any of the two teams. Shame, we were up for it, but we missed the easiest plays. Now we have to get as many points from the ones available from now till the end”.

The Piacenza created a great atmosphere but it could not avoid the seventh defeat of its team in eight game against Treviso, which had beaten the Italian champs of Cuneo in the last round.
Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Copra Morpho Piacenza): “We threw away the first set. This is the way to play but we still have to work to limit our mistakes. We created decent plays, but as many decisive mistakes. The first two sets were as I wanted, the boys played focused. If we look at the numbers, we are struggling, but if we work well we have our chances in the next road games”.
Alessandro Farina (Sisley Treviso): “We had a good game, but we made too many silly mistakes. Still, we managed to limit their serve, which was what we were most worried about in this game”.

Cuneo comes back from Latina with a four-set victory in a game which was spectacular at times.
Giampaolo Medei (coach Andreoli Latina): “We faced a great team today. We have to focus again on certain things which we can improve on. What we’re lacking right now is training with consistency and get the injured players back”.
Alberto Giuliani (coach Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We knew we had an excellent team in front of us. The quality of our serve faded in the third. Now we have to focus on the road game to Belgorod in the champions League”.
