The Italian Cup weekend in Verona was a great success with 5500 invading the Pala Olimpia gym for the A1 Cup final. Cuneo had the better of Trentino 3-0 and wins the cup again 5 years after its last triumph (2006). The MVP Sustenium is Nikola Grbic.

Our performance was huge, especially when you think that we played five long sets yesterday. We have defeated a great team today, and I want to dedicate this victory to my son, who had started to cry at the end of yesterday’s game for all the tension there was, and then I want to dedicate it to all my family”.
Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “I just can’t explain why we make so many mistakes every time we face Cuneo. We did not manage to play our game. We made an awful lot of mistakes, too many and that cost us dearly”.
Osmany Juantorena (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Every time we meet Cuneo there is the will to prove to be stronger and we do so playing exclusively physical, but volleyball is played mostly with the mind and in that respect, they have been better than us and deserved the win”.
Emanuele Birarelli (Itas Diatec Trentino): “They have got on court with a clearly better attitude than us. They served better and received very well too and that made them gain confidence. They played better than us and deserved the victory”.
