Treviso had knocked Trento out of the competition no less than 3 times in recent years but this time round, Trento needed just three sets to make things right.
Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “This is a very important victory not only for the result but also for the way we played. We started off with a high rhythm, we kept it up throughout the game and qualified for the final. Both Cuneo and Macerata are very strong teams, although Cuneo might just have the edge right now”.
Rapahel De Oliveira (Itas Diatec Trentino): “We got on court determined right from the start and we stayed focused till the end. Treviso is a strong team, any lapses could have cost us dear. The final was our target, now it doesn’t really matter whether we face Cuneo or Macerata because they are two strong teams, but I am sure this will be a great final”.
Jiri Kovar (Sisley Treviso): “It was tough to deal with their serve. They made it difficult in reception for us from the word go. With the ball in our hands, I think we’re better, but today it was impossible to express our best game. Their serve took us out of the it”.
Dante Boninfante (Sisley Treviso): “We couldn’t do better on their serve. In the first set, we failed to convert some opportunities, and you can’t do that because they never slow down. We should have begun more aggressive, if we’d done so we might be talking of a different outcome right now. Their serve is a lethal weapon, they got the usual runs from Kaziyski and Juantorena, which really hurt us. On the counter, we could have done better but I think we had a decent game”.
