The relegation into the B1 after the playout defeat against Perugia was extremely hard to take in. But what’s next now for Gela? Hope to wait if there is any opportunity to register in the A2 all the same, or start building a strong team for the B1 league?
“We did not expect to go down – said sport director Bonaccorso – Especially after our splendid first half of season. I don’t know what we lacked, but I can tell what we had plenty of: bad luck. When you have to play the playout final with 5 injured players, things get really complicated, but it’s part of the game. We can’t reproach anything to the boys, we tried our best until the end. But I see a great future for the club. I am sure that president Barranco will keep giving great satisfaction to the fans because he is passionate about volleyball”.
