Vibo Valentia announced the name of the new coach for the coming season: Gianlorenzo Blengini. Born in 1971 in Turin, Blengini spent many years as assistant coach before taking over Santa Croce in 2009-10. This season, he led the team to the A2 playoffs, in which they were defeated by the future winner, Padova.

“I have chosen Vibo Valentia for various reasons – said Blengini – First of all because coaching an A1 team represent an important opportunity and I want to thank president Callipo. I think wanting to have success in one’s career is a normal ambition, and I couldn’t have turned down such an important offer for my professional future. Hopefully we will have a good season, with the human and professional characteristics that I represent. I will convey fighting spirit and the pride of the shirt to the team”.
