At the beginning, Genova seemed doomed to go home from Gela with nothing more than a defeat when fought back and led 2-1. However, this was not enough, in the end the hosts clinched it in five sets thanks to an excellent performance from outside hitter Sequeira, well assisted by Pinto Veloso. In the tie-break, Gela had built a 10-7 lead but Genova cut the deficit and even put its nose in front at 13-12. In the end, Dalù’s timeout did the trick as Gela scored all three following points to seal it.
