Two Vermiglio on court with Federico’s “Invasion”

It’s 10-7 in the third set between Macerata and Piacenza with middleblocker Michal Rak about to serve. The players are ready to play when the unexpected occurred: Court invasion. Not the kind of invasion we are unfortunately used to see on football fields, which often involves the stewards and police. None of that. It was the little Federico Vermiglio, about to turn 3 years old, son of Macerata’s setter. He saw an opening, and sneaked away from his mum to get on court and jump in the arm of his father. Reactions? Smiles and big applause from the crowd of the Fontescodella as well as the players on court and on the bench. What a beautiful sport, our beloved volleyball!
