Before the big game, the new weight room of the PalaCosta gym was officially named after Merano Melandri. Then, other champions took over and it is Ravenna that created the upset against favourite Roma, currently runners up behind Castellana Grotte in the A2 league. Besides, while Roma presented its full squad, Ravenna had quite a few worries, with Garnica, Ranghieri and Lirutti all with physical problems. The game has been tight from start to finish, during the whole four sets, but Ravenna proved more cunning in the end.

“This was a great game and we deserved the three points – said a thrilled chairman Costa – The team faced many problems of late, with injuries. This win is based on the moral values of the group, which always fights and entertains the crowd”.
