Note even in its wildest dream could have Genova imagined a better start to the season. All the more so when you consider that the game was at risk following the flood that tore apart the city less than 15 days ago. The staff did a great job and the game could be played as normal and in its first outing, the hosts took all three points. Outside hitter Matteo Paoletti was named MVP (23 points, 2 blocks and 1 ace).
“It went well today – said coach Horacio – It was hard but we did well to overcome the difficulties in the first set and halfway through the third. Sora is an excellent team, today they were without their outside hitter (Darraidou), while ours, Paoletti, really had a brilliant performance”.
