RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT SAN GIUSTINO – TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-18)

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT SAN GIUSTINO: Zhukouski, Dias 21, Giovi (L), Finazzi 5, Nikic 12, Maric 10, Cester 10, Steuerwald 2. DNP Van Den Dries, Schwarz, Bartoletti, Braga, Lo Bianco. Coach. Zanini.

TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA: Rivera Caamano 8, Coscione 3, Suljagic 6, Anderson 7, Ferraro 1, Kindgard, Simeonov 11, Ananiev 1, Fanuli (L), Nikolov 3. DNP Baroti, Barone. Coach. Di Pinto.

In the 9th round, San Giustino was reacquainted with victory in its own gym as it severely defeated Vibo Valentia. Three important points for the team led by Fabricio Dias, MVP of the game.

Enrico Cester (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it San Giustino): “We played just as we had to. We played well in every area of the game. It was crucial to win against Vibo because they also fight to stay up. These are three extremely important points to reach this target”.

Fabio Fanuli (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “San Giustino was aggressive right from the start. We struggled in every department of the game, while they did well in the block-dig combination. They did what they had to, not us. I can only congratulate San Giustino”.

ANDREOLI LATINA – SISLEY TREVISO 1-3 (18-25, 25-20, 18-25, 22-25)

ANDREOLI LATINA: Kovacevic 12, Popelka, Kohut 10, Gitto 1, Sottile 2, Pieri (L), Spairani 7, Vujevic 11, Starovic 21, Giombini. DNP Cortina, Labardi, Nonne. Coach. Medei.

SISLEY TREVISO: Fei 29, Horstink 4, Kovar 5, Papi 8, Farina (L), Boninfante 2, De Togni 3, Bontje, Maruotti 1, Bjelica 15. DNP Szabo, Pujol, Vanin. Coach. Piazza.

An unstoppable Fei sent Treviso Flying against Latina.

Giampaolo Medei (coach Andreoli Latina): “They are a good team at the net. Now we have to analyse if it was more credit to them or if we did something wrong. I am not really satisfied with our performance. But congratulations to them, I think the score should have been even more severe in their favour. Our target is always the same: enjoy a good championship without any trouble”.

Alessandro Fei (Sisley Treviso): “Things went well today, the win will give us confidence. We are training hard but we struggle during games. I am back in form now after the World Championships, I am returning to my level and enjoying myself”.

YOGA FORLÌ – ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA 1-3 (19-25, 17-25, 25-22, 14-25)

YOGA FORLÌ: Falasca 19, Ricci Petitoni (L), Bacci 1, Diachkov 4, Cuturic 4, De Pandis (L), Ainsworth, Kovacevic 14, Loglisci 1, Oivanen 4, Bovolenta 10. DNP Olivucci. Coach. Molducci.

Falasca’s 33% sums up the whole game. Forli is better with Kovacevic back after five games out, but it did not manage to attack with consistency.

Vigor Bovolenta (Yoga Forlì): “We play worse than in training. We can’t stop to believe in our chances. We can play the games in a much more lively way. Various things did not work today. Shame because we could have done more”.

Marco Molteni (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “Forlì without a point is worrying. We feared this game, we knew it would be a slow tempo game and we wanted to face it the right way. In the end it’s three points, no matter if it’s Forli or Cuneo, at the end of the day it’s still three points”.

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – COPRA MORPHO PIACENZA 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23)

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Lampariello 2, Savani 9, Paparoni (L), Vermiglio 1, Marchiani, Conte 12, Stankovic 4, Vadeleux 2, Van Walle 1, Cacchiarelli, Omrcen 18, Podrascanin 9. DNP Martino. Coach. Berruto.

COPRA MORPHO PIACENZA: Popp 11, Semenzato, Marra (L), Gonzalez 10, Ruiz, Nilsson 18, Massari, Zlatanov 16, Holt 8, Tencati 11. DNP Perazzolo, Boschi. Coach. Lorenzetti.

Macerata celebrated its 500th game in the Serie A1 wit a 3-1 victory over Piacenza at the end of a tight encounter. Each set was decided by individual prowess.

Mauro Berruto (coach Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “It’s been a great victory, but not a great game. There has been a real fight on the serve, but the thing I’d like to underline and that I really liked is that my team really showed fighting spirit when the intensity of the game was going up. The team really did a great job in those moments, handling the situation very well. Now let’s focus on Wednesday’s Challenge Cup game: it will be important to face it with the right spirit, I want everybody ready. Whoever goes on court will have to give its best to obtain the qualification”.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Copra Morpho Piacenza): “It’s been a good game. Macerata was surely tired after its European trip to Greece, while we had to deal with Gonzalez’s problem at his finger for a set and a half. Then we started to play at full speed and we got ourselves with a chance. If we had got a point, nobody could have complained, I really can’t criticise anyone”.

M. ROMA VOLLEY – CASA MODENA 2-3 (25-21, 19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 17-19)

M. ROMA VOLLEY: Poey 26, Zaytsev 18, Paolucci, Lebl 11, Uriarte 1, Tomatis, Saraceni, Bencz 1, Yosifov 11, Corsano (L), Cisolla 9. DNP Cesarini, Corsini. Coach. Giani.

CASA MODENA: Manià (L), Fabroni 1, Kooistra, Dennis 29, Berezhko 9, Kooy 17, Casadei 2, Esko 2, Creus Larry 11, Casoli, Diaz 1, Piscopo 5. DNP Ciabattini. Coach. Prandi.

Third consecutive loss for Roma, the second at home. However, this tie-break defeat can be considered a good point taken. Dennis MVP.

Andrea Giani (coach M. Roma Volley): “Shame we made too many mistakes in the end, which cost us the game. Paolucci brought us consistency when he came on. The next two away games at Treviso and Macerata are tough but we should not get on court thinking we’ll be defeated. We have to give it a shot. I don’t care what the final result is, but we have to try to win it”.

Marco Piscopo (Casa Modena): “It’s been a good game, with many ups and downs. We are still a work in progress but little by little we are improving and starting to believe in our ability. Our level is getting better and the results are starting to come our way”.
