The World Champion (as well as Italian Cup winners 2010) needed just over an hour to become European Champion again in Lodz, Poland. It easily beat Dinamo Moscow and is now going after a rare Grand Slam. On Sunday, Sotytchev’s team will be in Bologna’s Futurshow Station at 6, where Cuneo will try to clinch its first league title and stop the club of chairman Mosna, which does not seem to find anyone able to slow their progress. Indeed, Trentino has already won the Cup, the regular season and the World Club Championship.

Trentino puts its second consecutive Champions League cup in the trophy cabinet. It inflicted a deserved 3-0 to Dinamo Moscow in a game between the two teams that had played the best volleyball in this competition. Stoytchev’s team had the better not only thanks to its superior level of play but also, or mainly, thanks to the determination and fighting spirit shown from the first to the last point.

The Russians had no answer for the serves of Trentino, who started off immediately focused. The severe 25-12 score was an indication of what was to come even if Dinamo played a little bit better in the following two sets.

There couldn’t be any better way to prepare next week’s V-Day for Trento.

“I just can’t believe yet how clear was this victory – said coach Radostin Stoytchev – It’s an extraordinary triumph built on the daily work in the gym and the abnegation of a great team, always focused, determined in every moment of the season. Before the game, I had told the boys not to think about anything, just to play and have fun because this was the only way to find how to beat Moscow and not think about the tiredness. That’s exactly what we did. Tonight, we’ll celebrate but we’ll already start focusing on the league final against Cuneo from tomorrow”.
