Trentino is getting closer to the Champions League Final Four thanks to a 3-0 away win over the Polish team of Rzeszow in the playoffs 6 first leg. This is an important step towards the semi final and final, which will take place in Lodz on the 10 and 11 April. One set will now be enough in the second leg (Tuesday) for the holders of the competition to make it to the Final Four for the second year running. A qualification that should not be taken for granted despite tonight’s encouraging result. Indeed, Rzeszow seriously made it difficult for Trento at the beginning of he game and they will also have the support of their numerous fans in the return leg.
“This is a big win for the Final Four qualification but it would not help to think it’s all over – said coach Stoytchev – We’ll have to keep our feet on the ground there, stay focused like we did tonight in the most difficult moment, in the first set. We decided to start with a slow rhythm, to understand who we were up against and to give our best in the middle stage of the game. It went well not only thanks to the great players we have but also to the team work that became more accurate when it mattered. We are in good form but we can still improve”.
Before the return leg, Trento will face Forli in the league at 6pm on Saturday.
