There will also be the Italian Volleyball League (Lega Pallavolo Serie A) at the stand with which the city of Bologna will be present at the Universal Expo of Shanghai. It will begin on the 1st of May and end a month later.
Having its main offices in Bologna, the Italian League, just like other big sport companies of the city, will present its clubs through a short film, which is also visible on the Internet site www.legavolley.it (in the web tv section).
China invested just a little less than in the Beijing Olympic Games in its attempt to open further its doors to the world with this expo 2010. The city will be shown through different angles with a slogan: “Better city, better life”. Amongst the different area dedicated to the excellent cities of the world, Bologna has been elected for the “Liveable City” area thanks to four characteristics: Culture and creativity – technological innovation – human rights and social participation – Urban and infrastructural transformation.
Sport, a culture excellence of Bologna, will therefore be represented through the spikes of the Serie A1 Tim clubs, extremely appreciated in China, where volleyball is one of the most famous and played sport, so much so that it has Jizhong Wei as the President of the World Federation.
The collaboration of the Italian Volleyball League for the expo has already started last month when it took part in the promotional ad on the presence of Bologna in the expo. The latter was realised through the public initiative “Bologna-Shanghai: now boarding”, which was planned by Articolture. Indeed, on the 21st of February, amongst the red objects that created the gigantic outline of Italy in front of the San Petronio Basilica, in Maggiore square, there was also a shirt of the Italian Volleyball League.
