Trentino and Cuneo will fight it out in the A1 cup final tomorrow as the semi final offered great moments of volleyball in Montecatini Terme’s PalaMadigan. Trentino had the better of Modena, which had its moments despite the superiority of the World champions.

Treviso had clinched the first set but completely lost its way in the following sets. Even the simplest thing looked difficult and Cuneo came away with the 3-1 victory. Fei had an excellent game for Treviso but a poor reception ruined the day. Cuneo deserved to win, it was more incisive with Nikolov as leader. Patriarca and Parodi shined too, while Janis Pedo proved to be important with 6 aces, four of which at the end of the fourth set.

Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We proved we had great potential. Once again, Treviso got off to a good start and won the first set but we did well to stay focused and do things as we had planned to”.

Alessandro Fei (Sisley Treviso): “Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to keep playing as we did in the first set. We played poorly from the second set on in every area of the game. As far as the league is concerned, we want to go as far as possible even if we know there are a lot of tough teams to beat”.
