Padova got off to a strong start against Roma and despite a good Portuondo, Padova won the first set. The second seemed to be a carbon copy of the first. Rome seemed to be lost, making many mistakes in attack, even Portuondo was limited to 29%. Meanwhile, Padova was doing well in dig and on the counter. Giani sent Mor on in the third and Padova struggled to contain those fresh legs. However, it eventually managed to cut the deficit to one (15-16).
