The Italian National Team is currently training in Modena to start preparing what will be along summer with the World Championship taking place in Italy at the end of September. Together with head coach Anastasi and assistant Andrea Gardini, there is also Alessandro Piroli, who was Modena’s scout this season.
“Working in Modena is ideal – said Piroli – It’s nice to be there everyday, in a gym and place where you can feel how important is volleyball. I think our season, with Modena, was excellent. There was a great team spirit”. Then he talked about Italy “Having the World Championship at home gives us great motivation. We feel a huge responsibility but we are extremely up for it. We have immediate targets with the European Championships qualifications and then the World League. We’ll try to get into the World League’s final phase in order to meet the best nations of the world”.
