To be the ‘veteran’ of a team at hardly 23 years of age is somewhat strange. Libero Antonio Ricciardello is the only player that wore the Taranto shirt last season and that will continue to do so this year. A survivor that was already there helping the team win the A2 title in 2005-06, as well as making it to the playoffs and the Cup semi final the following season.

“The club put together a balanced team that could do well – said Antonio – This is an important year for me. I want to build on the good things I did last season. I know I still have a lot to learn and the fact that coach Montagnani said there would be a lot of work in the gym doesn’t scare me at all. The road to get here has not been easy. I am from a little town in Sicily, not from Treviso or Modena”.
