Verona’s libero, Maurizio Latelli, spoke about his team’s performance away against Cuneo, who win 3-1 taking first place in the league table. Cuneo, who also registered its 10th consecutive win, will be Verona’s opponent again in the Final Eight of the Italian Cup on Thursday 29 January in Mantova at 6pm.

“We have to take the positive out of this game – explained Latelli – When we played our game, we could see that Cuneo was not unbeatable. That’s why we’ll have to play at our best in the next game and that’s why we have our chances in the cup. They were more consistent and deserved the win, not to mention the great performances of Nikolov and Wijman. We did start off well but then we faded”.

Meanwhile, Verona will host Macerata, second in the league, on Sunday. “It will be a real battle” said Latelli.
