Gioia del Colle had to make its Cup debut without some of its starters but it beat Loreto for the second time in 10 days all the same. The league game had been a spectacular hard-fought battle but this one proved to be a completely different story as Gioia cruised to a straight set victory. Coach Cannestracci can only be satisfied with this quarter final first leg win as he had to invent a new starting six, having Dias and Rigoni out recovering from injuries and Nuzzo and Gatto with fever. The return leg will be in 7 days.
