Gioia del Colle used the Golden Set to make it through to the semi final of the A2 Cup at the expense of Loreto. Gioia had swept their opponent 3-0 in the first leg but Loreto took revenge in the return leg, winning 3-1 (20/25;25/20;25/23;25/21) and forcing the Golden Set.
“Definitely a tough game – said sport director Gianni Montanari – The boys got off to a good start taking the first set but then they struggled. Then we managed to play differently and find the fighting spirit in the Golden Set”.
The semi final will take place in Mantova on the 27th of January, when Gioia will face Roma at 8.30pm. The winner will go through to the final, which is scheduled during the Volley Land in Forli.
