The League president, Claudio Sciurpa, was amongst the main fans of Trentino, which put Italia on top of the World thanks to its Club World Championship triumph in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday. The last time the event had been celebrated was in 1992 and Milano had defeated Treviso in the final.
“Congratulations to Trento’s chairman Diego Mosna and his club – said Claudio Sciurpa – It’s a great success: it puts the name of Italian volleyball right up there”. The President too the opportunity to organise important meetings “They have done great things there, and this event allowed us to establish a good relationship with them. We promised each other to collaborate again for important projects in the future. We also met the President of the Egyptian, Kuwait and Emirates’ federations. I can say we created solid basis for our international relations”.
Diego Mosna was obviously there too “I haven’t realised yet what we’ve achieved here tonight. We’re all overwhelm by a great feeling of joy and excitement, we’re dazed”.
