Esse-ti Carilo Loreto – Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo

PAST ENCOUNTERS: None

Alessandro Paoli (Esse-ti Carilo Loreto): “After two difficult games against Trento and Perugia, here comes Cuneo for another tricky one. It did not go too well against the first two in terms of results, which is why we’ll try to do better in this coming match. We’ll build on the positive aspects of the previous games and get on court keen to play face to face against a great team. It would be crucial to get some points given the long break that will follow. A break we’ll use to train hard in the gym and catch up on the technical part we haven’t been able to carry out during the October month which was full of encounters”.

Marco Pistolesi (General Manager Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “Sunday’s game against Loreto could seem easy for somebody who doesn’t know well how volleyball works. Loreto registered a few defeats due to the injuries they’ve had and the accident of Kay Van Dijk and Andrii Diachkov, but at home, they have almost always obtained good results and points. This is why it will be a difficult game, we’ll need maximum focus in order to take all three points, which is important for the championship, all the more so if we consider the qualification to the next Italian Cup”.

Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia – Lube Banca Marche Macerata

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 12 (9-3 Macerata)

Rocco Barone (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “Macerata is a great team and it will undoubtedly come to Vibo to take the three point. We’ll try to fight on every point, as we have been doing recently in order to keep the good results coming. We have to maintain a high level of play, try to give our best to offer our numerous fans what would be a great victory”.

Igor Omrcen (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “The Vibo game will be a crucial game in our fight to conquer a place in the top four of the regular season. We’ve had three good results in a row but it was obvious that we need to work more to be at our best. We’ll aim for the three points and a good performance, even if Vibo Valentia is a very tough team to face right now, especially at home”.

CoprAtlantide Piacenza – Trenkwalder Modena

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 18 (12-6 Piacenza)

Angelo Lorenzetti (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “Facing Modena will never be a game like the others for me: I spent important years of my career there, I was a boy coach and now I am an adult coach. They are surely galvanised by their initial results. Their technique, and especially the combination setter-outside hitter is a real threat for us. We are in good shape and we want to keep going the way we are”.

Mikko Esko (Trenkwalder Modena): “In these two weeks without games, we have trained hard. We are physically and mentally ready. We are facing a very tough game: Piacenza is the Italian champion and this is one of the best teams of the league this year too. They are strong in every area of the game, and especially good in attack. We’ll play our volleyball, try to be aggressive and fight on every ball”.

Acqua Paradiso Monza – Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto

PAST ENCOUNTERS: None

Mauro Berruto (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “Following Sunday’s home defeat against Forli, we don’t feel the need to talk, our thoughts are on the task in hand, the work that has to be done to make up for the loss. We’ve worked very hard this week on ourselves because this is the key to our successes and defeats. A lot is in our hands, until last Sunday we proved that with our attitude, our will and quality we could obtain the maximum”.

Lorenzo Perazzolo (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “Sunday’s game will be kind of a derby for me: I’ll face the club that gave me my chance at the top level, the one thanks to which I earned a place in the national team. There will obviously be a bit of emotion. They are strong, maybe not one for the title, but surely one that will make it difficult for us. It will be a tough game, but the reaction against Treviso last Sunday proved we are not doomed to relegation just yet as many say. We will fight hard and leave it on the floor to try to win. Besides, we are not far away from safety, we just need a spark to get off the mark and turn things around: Hopefully, the spark will come this Sunday”.

Yoga Forlì – RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 4 (2 each)

Giovanni Gavelli (Presidente Yoga Forlì): “I think that in Monza, the team understood we could play differently, more as a unit compared to previous encounters. Last week’s victory also changed our work in the gym. We are ready to face Perugia and we’ll do our best, for our fans too”.

Jan Stokr (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “Forli is a good team, even if it is last from bottom in the table. Besides, they have already played strong teams such as Cuneo, Piacenza and Macerata. It possesses good players, spiker Maric, outside hitter Popp and an excellent setter, Manuel Coscione. On Sunday, as I always say, the important thing will be how we play”.

Prisma Taranto – Sisley Treviso

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 13 (12-1 Treviso)

Paolo Montagnani (Prisma Taranto): “My team will need a great performance against Treviso. Each player will need to play at a high level and for the team, without thinking of the teammate’s mistake but of the opponent that stands in front. We’ll have a bit of pressure given the three consecutive losses without even taking a set. We definitely don’t want to lose another game. Treviso is doing really fine. It made drastic choices this summer, the group is definitely more up for it than last season”.

Alessandro Farina (Sisley Treviso): “Let’s not think about Taranto and their three defeats. I think they will be very eager to win and in their gym they will do everything to redeem themselves against us. Taranto is a good team, it has classy players such as Suxho and especially Rivaldo, the main factor of the attack. We’ll have to look after him and the other Brazilians, it will not be easy because they find extra energy at home, but our target is to chase the three points. We’ll need a strong start to show how things stand. The training week went well, we are physically fine and all the players seem to be in good shape, so we’ll go there up for it to obtain a good result even though this will not be easy, testimony is our last home game against Pineto: Every team has weapons to make it tough for you, we’ll have to make our strengths prevail”.
