On Wednesday 28 october at 8.30pm, one last game of the first round will be played. Indeed, Pineto versus Vibo Valentia had been postponed. With four defeats and three wins, Vibo counts 9 points, while Pineto snatched a point against Verona in the 7th round but are still looking for their first win of the season.
PAST ENCOUNTERS: 4 (2 wins each)
Emanuele Sborgia (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “The game against Vibo was scheduled a month ago but, sincerely, this doesn’t change much for us. You have to face all the opponents, sooner or later. However, there is the inconvenience of playing in midweek again, with all the difficulties that it implies. We know Vibo is a strong team, that started off well despite injuries. They might be fading a bit right now and we have to take advantage and start to turn our progress in our level of play seen against Verona and Perugia into results”.
Claudio Torchia (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “I don’t think it will be a walk in the park in Pineto. We will face a team that can make it difficult for us. Verona only won it at the tie-break against them. They don’t have much pressure on, they have nothing to lose and will therefore be dangerous. We’ll have to be focused and especially determined. It will be important to put pressure on them from the start and impose our game”.
