Macerata won the first semi final of the A1 Cup 3-1 at the expense of Piacenza. This will be there second consecutive final. De Giorgi’s men will now wait to know against whom they will play to defend their title. Macerata had some ups and downs in the first but then imposed its game. Still, Piacenza was close to force a tie-break.
Angelo Lorenzetti (Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza): “We played against a very strong team, we all know them. They found some great plays from the center too, digging extremely well. Shame everyone was physically not at his best. Now, we have to sort out a couple of things for the rest of the league”.
William Snippe (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Yes, we had a good performance, we played excellent volleyball and managed to come out of a tough situation. I don’t have any preference for our future opponent. That’s the same for us, the important thing is to play with consistency like we did today”.
