Gioia sweeps Bassano in its own gym
Gioia del Colle created the main upset of the latest round in the A2. Indeed, Cannestracci’s boys went to the house of the undisputed league leaders and left them buried 3-0.
Santa Croce took full advantage by beating Castellana Grotte home. Mattioli and co therefore closed in on Bassano, standing only one point behind now.
Third in the table, Latina took the three points too at the expense of Cavriago (3-0). Crema got rid of Bologna on the same score, catching up its opponent of the day in the table with 21 points.
Two games had to go all the way to the fifth set to find its winner. Loreto had the better of Isernia, dominating the first two sets before new signing Darraidou led his team to a comeback with 23 points scored. Castelfidardo also needed the tie-break to register a nice win in the capital after losing four consecutive matches without taking a single point.
Finally, Catania beat Città del Castello, who is now rock bottom.
