It took over two hours to get rid of Castellana Grotte but in the end Latina made it and stays top after yet another great battle.
Latina hadlost the first set but then captain Giombini (33 points) and Moretti, showing the great form of the cup, led the team to a 2-1 away edge before the hosts tied it to push the game to a tie-break. In the fifth ste, it was Giacomo Tomasello’s block that handed the victory to Latina.
“It was a very tough game – said Simone Rosalba – After so many difficult encounters, we were due to fade away at some point but the positive is that we still managed to snatch the win”.
