The 4.400 fans present in Cuneo gave their player a great ovation at the end of a fantastic battle they won against Macerata. The game lasted two hours with a record second set of 40 minutes and a 37 to 39 score. This victory was all the more precious to the Cuneo players as it came just seven days after the bitter Cup final against this same opponent.
Silvano Prandi: “I’m satisfied with the way we battled. We hanged in there in the fourth, got our rhythm back, with our serve which had not been working in the previous set. The team was solid today”.
Vladimir Nikolov: “This game was a lot different to last week’s in the cup. We both made many more mistakes. It’s great to have beaten what is right now the strongest team in Italy. If we play as a team like we did in the last two and a half months, we can go all the way”.
