Itas Diatec Trentino is hosting Andreoli LAtina tomorrow night at PalaTrento for the last round of the first leg; round which will define the TIM CUP A1 Final Eight 2008.
ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO speaking – The three weeks break has not allowed Winiarski to recover fully and be able to be available for tomorrow’s match against Latina. The Polish spiker has recovered from his back problem but he is not physically ready to go back on court despite the great progress made lately.
Nikole Grbic will be there though, back in Trento this morning: “I have been able to talk to Nikola in the past few days – says his coach – and despite his tiredness he is physically well which is what matters to us the most, especially because we will not have that much time to spend in the gym between today and tomorrow.
The match against Latina, even just for this reason, is a difficult match; in the past few weeks we have been able to train with one setter only so our work has focused on the individuals rather than the team’s dynamics.
Even last friday in the friendly match against Treviso, we have shown great difficulties in expressing ourselves on good levels and this is not giving me a piece of mind: compared to that match we should be better on a physical point of view. In the last period we have worked a lot with weights”.
The aim is to keep the series of home successes going like they did in the past six home matches and possibly managing to save energy for the match against Cuneo on sunday at PalaTrento
HISTORY 12 matches played between the teams in 6 Serie A1 TIM Regular Season. Perfect balance between the two with six matches won by each team.
NIKOLOV MVP IN DECEMBER Tomorrow evening at PalaTrento, just before the start of the match, the Volleyball League will give Itas Diatec Trentino’s Vladimir Nikolov the TIM MVP award, as the best Serie A1 TIM player for the month of december 2007.
