“I practically spend al day with physiotherapist David Diaz Cueli – says the spiker, who injured his left ankle on the 1st of march in Assago, during the Italian Cups’ semifinal against Cuneo – who follows me step by step through each exercise I do.
Rehabilitation is going well, I make progresses every day and the work in the swimming pool is gradually decreasing and the one in the gym increasing: I started running again and working a bit with the ball.
It is difficult to say when I will be back though, I obviously hope it will be asap because I sweat a lot more when watching the matches from the outside than when I am on court. My dream is to be back before the start of the play offs, it will be very hard, but let’s see”.
Paparoni comments on the defeats against Trento and Perugia: “They were very different – he says – because in the first one, against the leader, we fought evenly throught the whole match and they ended up being good at crucial times, especially with their service; last sunday with Perugia on the other hand, we played an awful match, full of mistakes, a performance to make up for asap”.
On saturday against Taranto winning is a must: “It will certainly be another battle – Alessandro comments in the end – because Prisma is coming to Macerata with the intention of going home with some precious points towards safety. They are a good team, they proved it in the first leg, coming back from being 2 sets behind. Our aim? To conquer all the points available from now to the end of the Regular Season, in order to end up as high as possible in the standings making sure we can play the play offs’ quarter finals at home.
The other matches played in the last round left us in 4th place which is good but at the same time we regret not having taken advantage of the situation like we should have”.
